One more heart breaking news to South Indian movie audience, K Balachander one of the greatest director who introduced the likes of Kamal Hassan and Rajini Kanth to world of cinema breathed his last at 7:05 PM today. News was declared by his son prasanna.
Last rites will be held day after tomorrow in Chennai.K Balachander admitted last week because of some old-age ailments passed away today, to the shock of many of his fans and film lovers. K Balchander who won 9 National awards as director, directed 101 films and won accolades for his works in the films Anthuleni Katha, Maro charitra and many more which stood novel to this generations too.
He was honoured with Padma shri by Indian government, fourth highest civilian award in India and He has received Dada saheb phalke and ANR National award for his contribution to Indian cinema. K Balachander born on July 9th, 1930 and he entered into films in the year 1965. He is left with 2 sons and one daughter.
