Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) supremo Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on Sunday announced that his party would never join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Addressing a well attended public meeting at SRR Government Degree College grounds in Karimnagar he said, “TRS is a 100 per cent secular party and never join hands with fundamentalist forces.” He said that BJP would not cross 200 mark in the Lok Sabha. He said, “There was no truth in the claims that the BJP led National Democratic Alliance would form the government at the Centre”, adding to it he said non-Congress and non-BJP parties will come to power.
KCR is confident for TRS victory in the elections as people have high aspirations in a separate Telangana State. That was the reason why the TRS had decided to retain its identity and not merge itself with the Congress and BJP. TRS reassessed the situation and decided against the merger.
“An alliance of regional parties will come to power, with whom TRS will join hands,” he said, and clarified that the promises made in the manifesto would be fulfilled and reiterated his stand on providing 12% reservations to Muslims and sanction of Rs.1000 per month as old age pension for the aged and the physically challenged.
