Tollywood is following an interesting trend of village politics now a days, after Rowdy fellow, Mukunda, now comes a new film which is made under successful Sai Korrapati’s production ‘Tungabhadhra’, Katha fame Adith Sai is the hero and Satya Raj played the key role, Lets see Tungabhadhra telugu movie review
Plot: Film is about a village where people divides by political parties and doesn’t hesitate to kill others or sacrifice themselves for their leaders, this story is about a Leader called Ram Raj (Satya Raj) and his rival is Paidithalli (Kota Srinivas). Ram Raj’s only daughter Gouri (Dimple Chopade) falls in love with her fathers ever reliable henchman Srinu(Adith Sai), whose father already sacrificed his life for him
After 10 years being power, Ram Raj loses to Paidithalli in the elections. How this turns tables and what happens to Ram Raj forms the film. What happen to Gouri and Srinu’s love story.
Director was successful in putting his message through the plot in a very subtle and convincing, but to make the characters more natural he made the plot dull in many of the phases, it looks bland for the story they are narrating.
First half goes off establishing the political fights between the two parties, and sweet little love story between lead pair but dialogues were poor in the episode, Some liter scenes were handled well without making an overdose of it. And most importantly Director handled some of the characters in wonderful way for example Bhanu’s character.
Second half has more serious things to offer, but lack of some strong characters other than Satya raj’s narrative looks weak. A strong writing may have helped the cause, which isn’t there. Major drawback is director has choosen a very routine plot.
Songs are a serious let down, all songs seems similar and doesn’t supported the narrative, even the BGM designed is not suited the plot. Sai Korrapati should be appreciated for his guts, as the film not for the masses, it can appreciated by the people who see film as an art.
Satya raj has delivered a commandable performance, his portrayal of a leader who feels for his men who sacrificing his lifes for his political advantages is simply the best of all in the film. He has given the character that much needed impact.
Adith sai suited the bill with his looks, but voice for the character is a serious let down, Performance he has given his best. Dimpe chopade too feels apt for the role, but in some angles she doesn’t even looks like a heroine material, but performance wise she justified the role.
Srinu jabardasth fame made his presence felt and other guy from the jabardasth gang too done well, Pavitra as RamRaj’s wife done well, Kota has lesser scenes but delievered his usual best.
Sapthagiri’s character resembles a real time character, he shined well in that role,
Director is successful in narrating a story where he can put forth his message, but he is unable to give the film that needed impetus to made it likeable to majority.
Cinematography is one of the highlight of the films, Music is average, Dialogues are good at phases and stale at some scenes. Editing is good, Art department should be given their due credit
Good intentions went wrong
